  4. Preserving Cultural Heritage: Promoting the preservation and documentation of Nepal’s diverse musical traditions, including folk music, classical music, and indigenous musical practices. This involves conducting research, collecting oral histories, and archiving musical recordings to ensure the continuity and integrity of these cultural heritage assets.
  5. Facilitating Collaboration: Serving as a hub for collaboration and networking among musicians, researchers, educators, and industry professionals. MRDFN aims to create opportunities for cross-disciplinary exchange and collaboration, fostering a vibrant community of practitioners committed to advancing the field of music in Nepal.
  6. Advocating for the Music Industry: Advocating for the interests and welfare of musicians and music industry stakeholders in Nepal. This may involve engaging with policymakers, cultural institutions, and the public to raise awareness of the importance of music as a cultural and economic asset, as well as advocating for policies and initiatives that support the growth and sustainability of the music sector.
  7. Promoting Cultural Exchange: Facilitating cultural exchange and dialogue through music by fostering connections between Nepali musicians and artists from other cultures and regions. This could involve organizing international music festivals, artist residencies, or exchange programs aimed at promoting cross-cultural understanding and collaboration.
